Travis Stephens is running for city director and posits this: "I'm curious to know what people expect and want to see from their local elected officials."
I expect critical thinking, clarity of judgement, and transparency of decisions and thoughts to matters pertaining to the city and community without swaying to whatever political winds may be blowing at the time.
Write a ReviewI don't know what the sam hill happened within the police department, but many years of management experience has taught me that if you cut a managers legs out from under him, you no longer have a good manager, or even a manager for that matter.
If the city council wants to micro-manage everything ala the Steinbrenner School of Management, then fine, so be it, but don't expect to attract a good City Administrator now that you have basically told the last one that he did not really run the show.

The Internet is a major social interaction paradigm shift, and the
River Valley area needs to adopt it in all areas. I'm sure most people
would agree that the area is not exactly the most expediate in keeping
up with trends, but at least we are trying: Organizations such as YEL
have a wonderful community-based web site for communication, Fort
Smith's IT department has embraced the Internet and has great
technology available, and the Van Buren Chamber of Commerce is in the

Write a ReviewIf you've notice some commercials blaring out much more loudly than the other commercials on certian channels? I believe it is because the Cox Media-placed commercials have the volume settings higher than the network shows and ads. How about it, Cox? Is there a problem here? It is real annoying to have to continually adjust the volume when watching shows. If you need to know, I noticed this on several cable channels, but right now, it just happen on 62, Fox News. Help!

I hope the great parts of Yahoo! like del.icio.us and especially flickr (they have been very vocal) are not harmed if the buyout happens.
