Forever and some more seems to be the way to go with U.S. Postal Service. Soon it will be cheaper to hand carry and deliver mail on your own to the recipient, even with gas prices the way they are. For perspective, I really do remember penny post cards.

Forty-two years ago in 1967 I was 16 years old and I was living in Charleston, AR. When I was 14 my family had moved there from Siloam Springs because my dad had gotten the job as ranch manager for Triangle Cattle Company.

Toothpaste scientists have done wonderful things. We have toothpaste that whitens teeth, freshens breath, fights tarter, hardens enamel, and fights cavities. Why, then, can’t we come up with a toothpaste that doesn’t turn to rock-hard globs in the kids’ bathroom sink?

If you read today's Times Record, Dennis Kelly, Fort Smith's City Administrator, is bringing a proposal to a "Study Session" on Tuesday the 12th that would enable him to hire and fire his salaried employees without City Council Board approval.

The closest McDonald’s to my house is the one on Hwy 71 & Brooken Hill. My family doesn’t like it. When you walk up to the counter, you are as likely as not to be met with a dumb stare. No greeting, no smile; just the counterperson challenging you to make them work.

You may remember the old rock Massard Methodist Church, or the 2 room schoolhouse and the gas station and grocery store at the corner of Highway 22 and Massard Road. Perhaps you recall Moody Dairy or the Highway 22 Drive-In Theatre where K-Mart is now located.

Lori Williams, executive director of Fountain of Youth Adult Daycare, accomplished something that no one else in Arkansas has. In fact, very few in the United States have accomplished this. After long and hard work, Lori succeeded in qualifying Fountain of Youth as a VA benefits provider.
