Herbert and Helen Elizabeth Kendall Ruleau welcomed Cecelia Laurine into their family November 16, 1926 in Martin, SD. She died Tuesday June 21, 2011 at St. Scholastica Monastery where she resided for the past six years. She has been and Oblate of St. Scholastica since the 1980’s. She was a receptionist at St. Scholastica for many years. She received her BA in Elementary Education from Nebraska State Teacher’s College, Chadron, NE. She received her MA in Special Education from Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ. She belonged to the Sioux Indian tribe. Laurine worked for many years with the Navaho Indian School in Window Rock, AZ. She is survived by three siblings, Nancy, Ives, and Donald. Her cremains will be brought to St. Scholastica Monastery Monday, June 27th. The funeral Mass will be Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 7:30 AM and interment will be in the St. Scholastica Cemetery.
Cremation is under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
