Introducing River City Deli

Barely four months old, River City Deli is the first and only New York style deli in this part of the state.  It was born from the love of this style of food by a mother (me) and son combo who wanted to bring our version of comfort food to the River Valley.  When we think of the word "deli," it conjures up images of piping hot homemade soups, melt-in-your-mouth meats, and the kind of attentive service you only get at home from the people who love you the most.  So....that's the experience we set out to create.  We're making almost everything from scratch.  Every day there's a huge pot of chicken stock cooking on the stove that becomes our homemade chicken noodle, matzo ball, and wedding soups.  We roast all of our meats in house -- no pre-made deli meats here.  Our chickens and turkeys are slow-roasted in the rotisserie so that they come out moist and delicious.  We slow cook our brisket until it's so tender you can cut it with a fork, and our roast beef is cooked to medium rare.  We bring our corned beef and pastrami from the Carnegie Deli in New York City.  It comes to us raw with their seasonings (the best in the world) and then we steam it in our kitchen so that it comes to you hot and fresh and mmmmmmmm....so delicious!    Our meats are then piled high on your choice of bread and served with your choice of a side.  Our sandwiches are stuffed with six full ounces of meat (most places do about 2 ounces of meat), or you can get it overstuffed (10 ounces!!) for a few dollars more.
