I Felt Cancer Coming!

Six weeks prior to my routine labs (blood work) and seeing my oncologist, I felt like God was preparing me to hear the words, “your cancer is back.”

A few days after my June 12th appointment, the word I received gave me the heads up to get ready to declare BC-War II.
The call came.  My tumor markers were up to 47.  Over 38 indicate cancer could be camping out. It felt like something was trying to pull my soul out of my body.

They wanted to recheck my tumor markers in a week.  Tick Tock… getting through that week was an every second mind game. It was a battle to not let fear steal one second of joy. Now every day I must work to maintain that mindset. Actually, we should all have the attitude of gratitude so that worry and fear don’t take root in our lives and steal our joy.

The second tumor marker test reported an elevation to 50.  Let the war games begin….First, we had to find the cancer. CT scans, bone scans, PET scans, and ultimately a bone biopsy were ordered.

Friday, June 29th at 5:00pm, I heard the words that I knew were coming…your cancer is back.  It can be treated but there is no cure.

Tick Tock goes my life’s alarm clock!
