The Eureka Springs Historical Museum will host its 5th annual “Voices from Eureka's Silent City” cemetery walking tours on the third and last Friday and Saturdays in October, (Oct. 18th, 19th, 25th & 26th.) The living history tours feature live actors in period costumes telling the stories of early citizens of Eureka Springs.
This year features all new musical-themed stories of folks who lived in Eureka Springs during the 1930's and 1940's. Historical tales will include The Original Ozark Folk Festival entertainers The Hillfolks, the building and opening of the auditorium, and dances at downtown venues. You will hear from both the musicians and also those people who were behind the scenes making it all happen. Plus a tragic love story for a bit of drama.
Tours begin at 5:30 p.m. and leave every twenty minutes, the last at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under. They may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce, any Cornerstone Bank location, or the museum downtown at 95 S Main St.
There is no parking at the cemetery, but free parking and shuttle service will be provided at the former Victoria Inn parking lot located on Hwy. 62 East. Tickets will also be available at the parking site, or may be reserved by calling the museum. At 479-253-9417.
