One of the things that happens to bloggers is that many of them, like myself, come up with new and interesting topics to blog about. For me, it is technology, sometimes politics, food, and many others. I've begun setting up different blogs for this, and I am now trying to clarify the voices for all. I think I am going to do personal postings here, and let lucidpoints rest for awhile. It will still be up for the thousands of visitors each month for software tips, but just a little inactive for awhile.
New facility will stay focused on serving artist, audience and community.
Over a month ago I emailed the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad providing the company with links to the large rail companies which are taking steps to reduce air pollution generated by the diesel locomotives as well as improving fuel consumption.

See? I can't do that kind of math. :)
Yeah, "annoyingly convoluted" is a great way to describe most personal blogs. I suspect mine could be considered such by many people. I've been careful to limit my discussion of personal experiences, though -- unless I think the topic or the experience resonates with others.
Reading someone else's daily diary is, well, a lot like watching some of the more hard core reality TV shows.
Heck, I don't even care to have a record of what time I got out of bed and brushed my teeth on a given Saturday morning. I don't want a record of how I felt or what I thought. That's just so much blah blah blah.
Tom has an appropriate term -- "defragging." RSS feeds have helped us defrag the information we ingest. It seems some of us are struggling with defragging our output...
LOLCATS. Hmmmmmmm.

Technical query...
Is there a way to have an active presence here, whilst also maintaining content and loyal readers of lucidpoints? I've thought about moving most of my posting over here but, as you know, I'm in a war to reclaim tracyplaces among the spiders.
Incidentally, I suspect the scum sucking spam blogger has noticed my counter-attack and seems to be fighting back, although I don't quite understand his technique.
Google "tracyplaces" and you'll see the dot com right at the top. Until today, everything else has been tracyplaces.net, or the tracyplaces.blogspot.com site. Today, a really old dot com post jumped up to second -- and it was a really goofy one.
This is all a MYSTHERY to me!

my suggestion would be to segregate your topics if you'd like to dedicate some content to both sites. personal web logs that encompass a good number of categories can be annoyingly convoluted. it might be fun to brain storm for a while to see what sort of topics you'd like to dedicate to your personal site and those you'd like to discuss on here.
maybe a good criteria for such a separation could be to post content on your personal site that you feel represents or defines your personal identity, and to post content on the city wire that is a reflection of the opinions you've developed on matters pertinent to the city based on your personal identity. or the other way around. this site isn't just for business related discussion.
just promise you won't say anything about lolcats unless you are condemning the people who think they're funny to a life of 1,000 deaths for each millisecond of laughter their animal enslaving mouths emit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
