Don R. Martin

 

Don R. Martin,78 of Muldrow, Oklahoma passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 in Fort Smith. He was born in Sand Springs, OK November 19, 1931,. He joined the Navy at the young age of 17. While serving in the Navy he learned the trade of Dental Technician. 1990 Don joined what he called the Cherokee Family at the Cherokee Bingo in Roland, OK. Don held many positions at the Casino; his favorite job of all was wishing guest “Good Luck”. He was a Golden Eagle member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. Some of his great loves were his family and friends, ice cold Red Top Milk, playing cards, March Madness, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. His angel Lawrence Webb will stay near and dear to all of the family.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents Roy & Telee Whisenhunt Martin, brothers Shirley, Phillip, Jerry, David, and sisters Wilda Vinsant, Virgninia Schreiber.
 
He is survived by daughters Telea (Tami Martin) and her husband Randy Lee of Springtown, TX; Dawn (Dee Dee) Butler of Sallisaw, one granddaughter Kelly Jenkins of Keller, TX, one grandson Clinton Butler of Denton, TX; and two great grandchildren; brothers William Martin and wife Carol, sister-in-laws Sue Martin, Susie Martin, and Wanda Martin and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, April 19, 2010 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Steve Stewart officiating. Burial will be at National Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date.
 
Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Fentress Mortuary.
