Ray Morris is the Community Outreach Manager for Care Improvement Plus in Arkansas. Care Improvement Plus provides specialized Medicare Advantage coverage for underserved and chronically ill beneficiaries throughout Arkansas. Care Improvement Plus is owned and operated by XLHealth, a UnitedHealthcare company.

As a Community Outreach Manager, Ray Morris works closely with Area Agencies on Aging, the UAMS Center on Aging and other senior organizations throughout Arkansas to collaborate on efforts to better the lives of seniors and their caregivers. Morris’ primary role is to plan and present education programs to seniors with one or more chronic illnesses—like diabetes or heart failure—who may benefit from a Special Needs Plan (SNPs). Prior to joining Care Improvement Plus, Morris worked at the Arkansas Insurance Department for more than 11 years, serving as director for the Senior Health Insurance Information (SHIP). While at SHIP, Morris was responsible for expanding the program’s counseling and education services to Arkansas Medicare beneficiaries throughout the state on topics such as Medicare, Medicare Supplement Insurance, Medicare Advantage plans, long-term care and Medicaid. In addition, Morris was responsible for managing partnerships with Arkansas non-profit organizations, state and federal personnel, volunteer program participants, and community service specialists.
